About

He graduated from the University of London in 1977 and qualified as a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1984.

He has extensive medical training having worked in Canada, the West Indies and the UK before moving to Australia in 1989 with his family and joining the Faulkner Street Medical. He was the founding Chairman of the New England Division of General Practice in 1993.

Among his achievements with this organisation were to set up the New England Immunisation Register and the New England Diabetes Register. He was made Australia Day Armidale Citizen of the year in 2005 and was awarded the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship in 2007 both for services to medicine and for services to the community.

In 2010 he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services as a General Practitioner and to the arts in the Armidale region. He has a broad interest in General Practice including a special focus on the management of diabetes.
