She graduated from University of Columbo in 1980 and worked in the Royal Canberra Hospital and Woden Valley Hospital in Canberra until moving to Armidale in 1986. She then worked as a Career Medical Officer at the Armidale and New England Hospital for several years until going into Practice in 1990.

She has post graduate qualification in Family Medicine, Family Planning and Womens Health and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners. She has a special interest in paediatrics, family planning, sexual health and women’s health including menopause.
